Subject: Can't add Devices/Not polling

Hi all – my Observium installed has just decided to stop polling and reports all devices as down. I also can’t add new devices.

I thought it may have been a lack of disk space so today I have updated to the current subscription version, ran the housekeeping script and cleared out as much off the machine as I can but there has been no change. My RRD directory is only about 5 G and I have around 4G free on that drive so it is not obvious to me that there is a lack of available space.

I’ve been having trouble with the firewall config on that host so I also disabled the firewall in case it was blocking traffic.

I can ping all the devices I am monitoring from this host and I have another SNMP tool monitoring some of the same devices successfully.

So I am pretty certain it is the Observium host that is the location of the problem – I’m just not certain about what could be the problem…

Below is the error I receive when I try to add a device

I have checked the event logs but there are not even any entries in there to reflect that I have even tried to add a device let alone anything that will give me an indication as to what the problem is.

Needless to say, after several hours trying to troubleshoot this I would really appreciate any feedback or direction!

Thanks in advance

Mal
