Hi Ahmed,

Not really. It’s not likely to happen anytime soon, though. A lot of other things to do first. J

Thanks,

Adam.

Thanks again Adam.

Ideally, the format change could come with the extension of the API, so instead of adapting the db format on our side it would be easier to just switch to the API.

Is there a Jira entry that I could follow for this ?

Ahmed.

Hi Ahmed,

The API hasn’t been extended to this yet because we intend to change the checker format at some point in the future and didn’t want to change an existing/utilised API.

So yes, probably. But it shouldn’t be too complex a change. We’ll likely change the test format to the same as the association format.

Thanks,

Adam.

Hi Adam,

Thanks for the information.

I don't mind updating the database.

But then, will the changes to the way alerting operates affect the database layout ?

Using the API was a way to avoid caring about that ;)

Thanks.

Ahmed.

Hi,

Alerting rules aren’t yet in the API because we plan to change how they operate in future.

You can directly modify them in MySQL, which is probably a similar level of difficulty to using the API, given that most of the complexity is creating/modifying the rules themselves J

Thanks,

Adam.

Subject: [Observium] Observium's API documentation

Hi,

I am planning to use the observium API and found the documentation at https://docs.observium.org/api/.

I am interested in updating the alerting rules through the API, is that feasible ?

And if so, is there documentation for it ?

TIA,
