I also use snmptt to format traps in to more readable syslog entries which helps.

Have snmptrapd log traps to syslog (default anyway I think) on the Observium box then create a Syslog alert if you need to.

 

Works well and easy to setup.

Observium does not support SNMP Traps at all.
