The agent is currently only used for the applications framework, and for passing ipmi sensors.

The apache script, for example.

Ok,
I understand,
can you point me to one graph that works from observium_agent?
Thank you!

We do not use that information.

That stuff is left over from check_mk. We don't use it.

Thanks for replying,
and patience

I have to start over.

I am not using check_mk

I am using observium_agent on solaris

I have altered one line (cpu) to be compatible with the linux output format

I want to see the graph that is making

what do I need to do?

Thank you again!

We do not use any of the information returned by check_mk.

We only use information returned by our own scripts.

Sure,
but I'm talking about already existent graphs like:
from linux agent I get
<<<cpu>>>
0.00 0.09 0.09 2/242 7202 2

and from solaris I get
<<<cpu>>>
0.14 0.13 0.13 1/78 26437 4

Is this not already graphed by Observium?
I assume it is,
I just cannot say if the CPU graph I see for the solaris host is the one that is being send by the observium_agent

Best!

We don't generate graphs from any of the default check_mk output.

We merely used it as a template to build the Observium agent.

To build graphs from any of the data you get from the Solaris agent, you'd have to write code for it.

Thanks for the answer,
maybe I cannot express myself, but here is what I did:
- installed the linux agent on one of the machines
- executed the linux agent and check the result format
- installed a modified version of your agent on solaris machine
- check the output and it matches on some output with the linux one

I would like to check if the graphs are created using the data from the solaris agent.

I'm not saying you should use their solaris agent, our needs are to monitor some solaris parameters,
and since we got this agent working we would like to see graphs.
Like a pet project.

Thanks for your support once again.
The software is great!

Hi again,
saw that you used check_mk to inspire the uniix agent, and I di found
the solaris variant of theyr agent.
Put some of the checks in the observium_agent and I get data when
telnetting in there.
The thing is I cannot tell if the graphs I see are from that data or
not, let's say cpu.
How can I tell?

Will not use any data from their solaris agent.
