Only a skilled psychiatrist is skilled enough to debate the reasoning around vendor MIB design and implementation. :D
You find this same kind of thing with every vendor, things randomly change between versions. Our usual advice is to try to run the latest code.
In general Foundry's MIBs were quite well designed.

Yes, I see that in the MIB. But I think that's wrong. I'll ask my Brocade Support Engineer what he thinks about that.
