Hi Gaurav

does ./poller.php -h <copied server> yield anything useful about bind?

regards,

Roeland

Hello Peter,

Thanks for the response.
for ease of reference we can refer to servers as
1. original server --> unix agent reporting Bind as the application found
2. copied server --> unix agent reporting no application found

The "copied server" has different IP, hostname and a new DNS name too.
Through Observium able to get graphs of resources and other details of both server seperately.

Unix-agent has been verified to be enabled for both the servers in Observium -->(device)-->(poller Modules) --> unix-agent is set to enabled.

Also checked for the output of the unix agent using telnet, it's showing the output.

Gaurav

it is not clear whether you added the new device with a new DNS name too.

eg first server was server1 and the copy was server2.

is the unix-agent enabled in the server2 observium configuration

thanks

Hello,

I have installed ubuntu on virtual machine, configured bind and unix-agent successfully, in observium were able to see the application "bind" and all the graphs related to bind were displayed.

After few days, I made a copy of vmware virtual machine (on which bind was running), added it to observium (with new IP), telnet to 36605 shows the output related to bind but observium showing that no application is running on the new virtual machine.

so, 2 queries:
1) what am i missing?
2) How to debug step by step

Gaurav
