Not sure if that means I’ve misunderstood how it works – but what I can say is that the SNMP polling ramps the CPU usage up a bit and so the fans spin up (almost) every time the switch gets polled. From there I’ve assumed that this behaviour may be affecting how the ‘fan speed range’ is calculated by Observium – but again not a big issue to just manually input the right values.

Perhaps we should write some docs on this subject, I think a fair few don't understand how it works (or doesn't sometimes)!

Yep implementation is pretty much flawless - my only bugbear is I've had to set custom limits for the fan-speed (1900 low, 6000 high) because the autotuning seems to get caught out by the fans ramping up when the device is polled.

Support for Netonix already added yesterday in r8990 (pro, rolling).

I am happy to provide unfettered access to a Netonix WS-24-400AC switch for as long as you need to use for developing support, if that is any help.

Hi,

MIB file added - mean only "added mib file", not support for device
:)

For device support - we need snmp access to an example device..

And/or as minimum walk of device, system OID tree (.1.3.6.1.2.1.1):

snmpwalk -v2c -c <community> -M
/opt/observium/mibs/rfc:/opt/observium/mibs/net-snmp <device>
.1.3.6.1.2.1.1

and vendor OID tree (.1.3.6.1.4.1.46242):

snmpwalk -v2c -c <community> -M
/opt/observium/mibs/rfc:/opt/observium/mibs/net-snmp:/opt/observium/mi
bs/netonix -m NETONIX-SWITCH-MIB <device> .1.3.6.1.4.1.46242

Replace <community> and <device> with your data.

We noticed in the changelog that Netonix MIB was added. We have a

 Netonix WS-8-150-AC

Observium 17.11.8942 (rolling)

 Thank you
