Correct.
in /etc/hosts I have IP with hostname. I am then adding via gui with snmp community string. I’ve done this with about 10 devices, so far, and a few haven’t been found.
When I add via gui, some work by using IP, some by hostname.

That depends upon the method you're using to add things...
You should be more specific :D

Base Ubuntu install.
sudo agp-get update && apt-get upgrade
Then install.
Then add your device.
Run poller and discovery.
Wait.
It takes a little time for the metrics to show because there is no data.
You are literally starting to record it after a poller and discovery.
Took about 20 minutes for me to notice my 1st device but it was doing 2 Gbps.
The graphs scale though (at least in pro they do) so if you do less it should still be visible.
Next time, CNTL ALT PRNT that sucker so we can see.
Also, I use snapshots on my VM for Observium b/c I don’t back it up. ;0)

You have a syntax error in php.ini, which is breaking PHP.
This kind of thing is why we always tell people to just flatten the system and follow the install guide again!

What are you installing on? You shouldn't need to edit the php.ini. You seem to be missing the MySQL PHP modules too!

I’ve seen some replies that say “You installed incorrectly.”
Do I need to just go through the installation steps again? Or is there a better way to address what I missed?
Thank you,
