I was able to solve my issue by using the test.php file I could track the alerts easier and realized I had it set to ‘mail’ instead of ‘smtp’ which then uses the smtp_host config

Subject: [Observium] email alerts

In the doc it says under  Alert Settings – this is only applicable to subscription edition. Does that mean just the first item (alerter = true)? Or the entire alert settings config

http://docs.observium.org/config_options/#alert-settings

Right now we get #slack alerts but not email, I see that in config.php Im missing the line for

$config['email']['enable']          = TRUE;

But also wondering if the hostname should be in quotes ‘mailrelay.host’ or mailrelay.host

thanks
