I already had it installed, but not enabled. php5enmod mcrypt fixed that. Thanks for the pointer, Markus.

The auto refresh, if you've turned it off (certain pages I think maybe now disable it whilst you're on them but the dashboard won't), is under the little menu under the gear at top right next to the search box.
What revision are you running?
