Hi Adam,

Thanks for the answer, I was actually wondering if groups membership where checked on polling or discovery.

From your answer I can assume this is not done during the polling ^^.

Actually my idea behind using _perc for a group was to display everything that matches on a screen in a noc.

This way you can use the graph feature from the group and keep a close eye on the evolution.

Does that make sense ?

I couldn’t find a way to do that with the any of the views of device/entities that triggered the alert, so I thought of using a group.

Best regards,

Louis

Hi Louis,

Creating a group using _perc doesn't quite make so much sense, since the percentage changes much more frequently than the groups are rebuilt.

You can use anything in the ports table as an attribute match (though not all of the contents of that table make sense to use). Rates and percentages are contained in a separate table which the entity matching system doesn't use.

Hi,

Seems that I can’t create a group that uses ifInOctets_perc for its entity match ?

Is this because of a reason/bug or I am doing it stupidly ?

My alert checker is working fine and I was able to create a group with ifOperStatus.

They are both in the Mettrics category so I expected them to work the same way.

Best regards,

Louis
