Edward : vm.dirty_background_ratio = 10 vm.dirty_ratio = 20
Edward, your settings are pretty high, if you have more than 1 Gb of RAM.
They came from ancient times, and aren't tuned for today servers' big memories.
Usually on servers that aren't file server, I set : vm.dirty_background_bytes = 67108864 vm.dirty_ratio = 10
The background must be less than ( 5 % RAM ) and max 64 Mb, I prefer to set it not as percent.
Please let me know the results, by private Email, if you will try these settings.
