Official way is SNMP Trap

TRAP: AP 'xxx-wifi-6P01', MAC: d0:c2:82:3a:48:10 disassociated previously due to AP Reset. Uptime: 0 days, 00 h 01 m 20 s . Reason: watchdog timer reset.

by Syslog i receive

SYSLOG: %CAPWAP-3-ECHO_ERR: capwap_ac_sm.c:7401 Did not receive heartbeat reply;AP: d0:c2:82:3a:48:10

I apologize for maybe stupid question but never found if observium supports SNMP TRAP, you're not using it for now

SNMP Trap is best way because we can receive Name of AP, in Syslog we have only MAC Address

Doesn't the device report on syslog when an AP disappears?

This is probably a better way.
