Observium tells you in the event log why it thinks the device is down (ping or snmp)

I can absolutely assure you that this is not normal, your devices have a configuration error. :-)

Or the CPU on the device is too high and won’t send SNMP data. I have stacks of 3750x’s that everyday around 1:00 P.M. EST will just stop responding for about 45 minutes. Why?

That’s when everyone gets back from lunch and decides to check YouTube.

If Observium thinks a device is down it's either because it can't ping it, or it doesn't get an SNMP response from it.

Check you can snmpwalk the device from the Observium server.

It's always the firewall, or the acls.

So, I have to say that after reinstalling Observium, but keeping my config.php intact, everything works---almost too well. I know it needs tweaking because right now, I have a message that a device is down, and I am able to log into it. Not only that, but O tells me that the box has been down for some time, yet I am able to ping from it.

What kind of tweak would this need?
