My use case for example is a shitty web filter that can get really slow and eventually reboot itself. The Firewalls detect one of the ports offline and flip to the standby unit that bypasses the wonky filter. Filter reboots, and eventually the ASAs fail back. So while this "failure" isn't causing an outage it's nice to see when the device goes sideways on us. The homepage "device rebooted" works great, I'd just like to see that be alertable in the future.
The /old/ alerting code will actually generate an email when a device reboots, but it also generates emails for all sorts of stupid things which you can't disable, so we don't recommend anyone does it.
