Hi Ben,
VMware seem to have moved the goal posts with SNMP after v5.5. Do you have VMware Tools installed on your VMs?
A while ago it was noticed that not all of our ESX hosts were displaying details of the VMs that were running but now every system is displaying a "VMs" tab (next to "Ports"). The only change that springs to mind is that VM Tools wasn't initially loaded on all the VMs. NB. Now VMs with and without VMware Tools loaded are visible; this is under Observium Professional.
What happens if you load Observium with /vms/ as a suffix to the main URL?
Hope this helps
Darren

Hi all, just curious do I need the pro version in order to see vms on esx servers? I see in the log for the esx host its collecting vm-agent data or at least showing it, but there is nowhere I can ‘see’ the vms that I can find.
Im wondering if its just a matter of upgrading to the pro …
Thanks
