We have just taken the professional support to deplay observium on all our infrastructure, it is unthinkable for us to install second tools to monitor network ports. Adam have you a date of
putting in production?
Another solution could be to make a littre script using telnet for checking port and activate alarms. Is it possible ?

Our port/service monitoring code is currently disabled pending a future rewrite.
At the moment we don't have a way to generate alerts based on the status of ports.
