Yup, we recently moved static-config to definitions. That file should never be edited by a normal user, but you almost always have to edit it when adding new features or OSes.
Though, by editing the file you've now lost the ability to easily update! To regain that you need to provide the changes to us so we can roll them into the tree, and you'll get them from us in the SVN.
Note that all contributions are copyright donations :)

Hi, I was trying to add support for NRG Printers (Ricoh-clones), following the method found in the Developing/NewOS page and i'm blocked on the fourth step ('Add an OS text name and possibly other settings in includes/static-config.php'), but this file is almost empty, and the only other place with detection logic seems to be includes/definitions.inc.php but the header is quite deterrent :-)

I've walked past the disclaimer and tried to add the new os type inside, and everything works now, is it the right method ?
