Hi Alexander,
Yeah, that's correct. The satellite systems have slower database access and no ability to delete rrds, so it's not useful to run housekeeping on them.
The master system is the best place to run it, and the only place you need to.
Discovery can be limited to the master system if the master has connectivity to all of the monitored devices, but can be run on the slave systems if needed for connectivity/topology reasons.
Adam.

Hello,
Currently with multiple distributed and partinioned pollers I only have the poller-wrapper.php process in the 5min schedule on the pollers and the discovery and housekeeping on the rrd-cache server. Is that okay or do I need to run the discovery and housekeeping also on the pollers?
I'm asking because I have a device deleted, last rrd file was updated on 25. April and housekeeping settings 'RRD File Max Age' & 'Remove Deleted Ports Age' to 7d - and I actually set 'Remove Deleted Ports Age' to 2d but still have the rrd directory of the deleted device.
Thought I would set the pollers 'only' for polling and do the discovery and housekeeping on the rrd server (as it's probably more efficient?) or is it not working that way?
Thanks, Alex
