What do you mean?
Start > Services > SNMP Service > Properties > Change SysLocation
Cd /etc/snmp/snmp.d/snmp.conf (or something like that) add your community from vi and ESC "wq" Enter
VMWare is via SSH in 5.1
That's your issue. You have to set it on the device itself.

I did set it back to google.
Syslocations are overridden in observium... network guys can't be assed to actually configure their devices.

Set your configs.php file back to Google. I personally think it works better.
Have you set sysLocations on your devices? Or, have you been using the sysLocation in Observium? You should do the sysLocations per device.

Anyone? I've re-entered all the locations, saved, re discovered and polled and they're all messed up still.
Should I remove all the lat/lon info directly rfom the database table?

OK I'll admit I was goofing around, in config.php I changed the geocoding API setting from google to mapquest for like ten seconds.
Most of my sites are now clumped in the island off Portugal now. I've tried editing the sysLocations and rediscovering/polling to no avail.
Halp! Now what?
