You just create a user with level 1, and then give them access to the devices, groups of devices and entities you want them to have access to.

We don't yet have the concept of a group of users.

Dear Adam,

For starters, I just want to give a simple view access to a group of devices to certains users. That could evolve in time, I understand I could grant them more privileges later on.

I’m looking for a clear implementation example.

Best regards.

What exactly do you want to delegate?

Only level 10 can change observium settings, except level 8 which can create planned maintenance.

Dear all,

So this page appeared since last time I visited : http://observium.org/docs/user_levels/

We are interested in implementing delegation of administration. Could someone explain how it is implemented by sharing a functional example / template ? What is the minimum version to implement this ?

Thank you.

    Dear Karolis,

I’m interested to implement similar segregate accesses (group of devices per group of users).

Could you please share how you implemented it ?

        Hi Karolis,

I presume the issue causing the slowdown is access checking to see if
the user is allowed to access the device. For admin users, the entire
check is skipped as they can always access everything, which is why it
would be faster when using an admin user.

This is something we'll have to look into speeding up, if my guess is
        correct...

Hi,

I have a problem with device classification to specific groups. We
currently have 750 devices added in our network.
Some users can only have access to specific devices, which led us to
creating a group associated with them.
The problem is, that more than 500 devices belong to the group, and
when we attach this group to a user, it lags like hell. The main
window of Observium loads slowly, and the search works very slow.
I dont think that the server is incapable of proccesing this quickly
It's a server with 80gb of ram, 24core cpu.
By the way, admin accounts work perfectly .

Is this a bug? Or something needs to be done in order? Let me know,
thank you.
