Nas4Free used bsnmpd
FreeNAS 9.10 (it based on FreeBSD 10.3) used net-snmp

For comparative purposes, I’m not seeing any behavior issues like this with Nas4free based on any of the FreeBSD 10.x releases and multi-terabyte arrays… so maybe specific to FreeBSD 9.x?

I have seen this behavior before on other FreeBSD-boxes so this i probably a FreeBSD/Net-SNMP problem. /Markus

Correct FreeNAS 9.10 is what I’m using
And I wouldn’t say a 2TB HDD is big in this day and age
big not for today, but "big for freenas monitoring" :)

Hi,
You are indeed correct!
I watched the value every few seconds to see what happens, and have spotted every minture or so the value is changing which is very strange!?
I’m guessing this would be a FreeNAS issue?
This is FreeNAS 9.10? They use net-snmp as snmp daemon.. not sure, this can be FreeNAS or Net-SNMP issue, but I think needed write issue for FreeNAS by first..
And issue exactly related with big storage size...

Hrm, not sure but seems bsnmpd return random sizes every request.. Pls try snmp requests to this nas with query:
snmpget -v2c -c <your_community> -M /opt/observium/mibs/rfc:/opt/observium/mibs/net-snmp freenas.hestor HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageSize.38
repeat this query multiple times (3-5) with some additional interval 15-30 sec betwen queries.

Hi All
Has anybody come across this issue at all?
Every 5mins, the Observium is detecting that our volumes on our FreeNAS server have changed?
Whats weird is it was working fine a few weeks until I had to reboot the NAS for updates
Every since then its been like this?
Where should I be looking to find out why this is happening?
pls show debug: ./poller.php -d -m storage -h <device>

Simon
