Thank you for the input . I tried via CLI which gave me bit more visibility on troubleshooting the issue.  Now I can add a device with authentication and encryption without any issue.

However, when I try it only with the authentication observium rejects it . Below is the error message I am getting ;

Error in packet

Reason: authorizationError (access denied to that object)

I am trying to add Cisco devices here.  However , few don't have security license and I am in a need of adding those devices only with authentication .

I did configure the View , Groups and Users correctly on the snmp CE device  and I tested from the Observium GUI. Just wondering is there any additional bits that need to be configured on the Observium ?
