I've been hacking discovery.php to resolve this issue for my HP ProCurve switches. An snmpwalk of .1.3.6.1.2.1.17.7.1.4 from other manufacturers would be helpful to see if I fixed the issue across the board.

I actually run 6248P's too, and have noticed something similar. Also I think I wrote the parsing code a long long time ago, but not the code that actually inserts it into the db... so it probably wasn't very well tested.
