Manuel,
i use snmpdv3, so ls -l `which snmpd` lrwxrwxrwx 1 root system 19 Aug 5 2011 /usr/sbin/snmpd -> /usr/sbin/snmpdv3ne
I remove references to public in /etc/snmpd.conf
and add in my own community blah_blah
restart services stopsrc -s snmpd; stopsrc -s aixmibd; stopsrc -s dpid2; stopsrc -s hostmibd; stopsrc -s snmpmibd sleep 4 startsrc -s snmpd; startsrc -s dpid2; startsrc -s hostmibd; startsrc -s aixmibd; startsrc -s snmpmibd
update /etc/rc.tcpip to turn on the services mentioned above as someof them (eg dpid2 and hostmibd) won't be running now.
Currently it presents a problem cause hostmibd takes up about 20% cpu during it's operation, so observium reports a constant 20% cpu utilization. This isn't real, it's just 20% during snmp scan.
hopefully this won't affect you.
I'm using 7100-00-03-1115 and moving up to 7100-04-01-1543 as we move to the new disk arrays
thanks
