Its possible to use distributed pollers with Observium, you can find a guide on it here:  http://blog.best-practice.se/2017/10/scaling-observium-horizontally.html
However to have a specific poller to poll only a specific group of devices (on a proxy site for example) you will need this patch: http://jira.observium.org/browse/OBS-2245

its sadly not added to the main repo as the plan is to rewrite the poller structure to have pollers register themself in the DB which enable you to do this in a more controlled manner.
I'm not sure how far along that rewrite is though.

Hi all,

just joined the ml, read latest posts but no answer found.
It seems that Observium doesn't support a distributed monitoring architecture, e.g. mapping remote proxies to access entire remote networks remotely, from a central management (e.g. like Zabbix, NetXMS, OMD etc.).
We work with lots of remote customers, so it would be really useful to have a complete overview of their networks.
