What you are saying is my issue. I don't think that configuration page is tied into the alerts.
The page we are referring to is from the Device Menu > Select Network > Select something (Click the Device/Location Name) > Gears Button > Ports
From here you can switch on/off the port alerts and polling. I think they were for the older system. They still show under the menu Ports > Alerts. Also, the home page under Ports and Down.
I do not just manage a datacenter, most of our network is branches. Some ports on our office switches are for conference rooms, temp rooms, etc.
I want to still monitor them, let people use them, but do not want to be alerted if they are up or down. By default, I turn everything off if not used. Some ports though need to stay on for situations like this.
By leaving the port up, I trigger one part of the system because something is down with the network up.
By "ignoring" the port (switching the alerts off which actually puts the port in the Ignored column on the home page) I still get flagged in an Alert Check because it meets the criteria.
I like having both views (so to speak). I just don't want the alert for ports I don’t care too much for "ignored" ports.
Is there a way to seclude just those ports other than one by one? Mine don't have a common description and are on different switches and switch brands/models.

Where are you disabling / ignoring the ports? Screenshot(s) would be helpful here.
You can set each port to poll or alert (Yes/No) under the settings of the device the port is on. Iım not sure if the Alert toggle is tied to the new alerts or a remnant of the old alerting system.
