I followed this http://blog.best-practice.se/2014/07/using-php-weathermap- with-observium.html http://blog.best-practice.se/2014/07/using-php-weathermap-with-observium.htmland it does work, but it is very clunky and not well integrated. But observium does populate it with data still.
Kedare has given permission to Adam/Observium to use his code https://github.com/kedare/observium_map_generator
I thinking knowing Adam and his opinions on code quality, I imagine Kedare's algorithm for producing dot files might get done first..
We are also after a global Map (not just the one hidden under the Ports section of a device which has LLDP peers).
We've just given up on Intermapper as its proving too unstable. But it is hard to find the right balance.
PHP Weathermap is a real effort to configure, layout and make pretty, but you _can_ control the layout which is important.
Or the dot file method which will produce dynamic maps, is quick and easy, but can be less informative in large networks where the layout is important to visualise things.
So who knows, maybe we will have both in the end...

Maintainers of PHP Weathermap also hinted that a future version might support Observium (in the comment section)

Dear Sebastien,
Nice hint. I'll give it a try.
Thanks.

Dear community,
I’m not finding any mention of Observium being able to create / support weathermaps ala cacti style : https://network-weathermap.com/
Still, someone posted about this : https://github.com/kedare/obse rvium_map_generator
Is a native weathermap module for observium in the works ?
Thanks.
