Yep, because you’re still trying to add it by IP address.
Try editing your /etc/hosts file and put in a line that says:
10.30.1.1 mydevice.mydomain.com
Then try doing the device add with the command:
./add_device.php mydevice.mydomain.com atbu+1 v2c
You will find it will work much better that way.

You cannot add devices by IP address. You need to have working DNS resolution, or have host to IP mapping in your /etc/hosts file.
