Ryan, great suggestion....which lead me to this startling revelation:
If you want to use the check_ping probe, you should install the check_ping probe.....
I never installed the Nagios probes, so....it would not run. I am all set, thanks for pointing me in the right direction!!!

I always drop down and run the check manually from the Observium box to see if your arguments are an issue or not, for example

Hi, i have created a bunch of ping probes in the past and never had an issue, however, on this particular install...I created a single ping probe and it has not run after days. How do I troubleshoot this issue?
