I think Mike is in the process of writing customisable email templates (I assume it's not already done, we can ask him when he's back on the 28th!)
You have staff members who can't understand the English?
Perhaps we could "localise" the email templates. Localisation of the entire platform is probably unfeasibly complex at this late stage, but notifications might be possible.

Why are you trying to match up and down? :)
If you want an alert when an enabled port is down you want :
ifAdminStatus equals up ifOperStatus notequals up
As the check conditions.

Actually, it needs to be ifDescr equals FastEthernet4/0/3 - if using match, please use * where you're thinking the matching should happen, as to not raise expectations that are incorrect wrt "match" vs "equals" behaviour ;-)

You can manually add per-alert checker contacts using the 'alert_contacts' and 'alert_contacts_assoc' tables in the database. For email, the contact endpoint would be 'email'.
The editing UI for this isn't finished yet, and these tables might go away in future if we replace them with something else, but for now you can do it in here.
