There isn’t any direct support included with the Professional edition. :D
It’s likely the user the web server runs as can’t ping things, this isn’t uncommon. We generally recommend adding from the console for this and other reasons.
What sent you an email? We don’t send emails about versions.
This is the process for upgrading, though :

You run this from inside the Observium directory, which is probably /opt/observium

Greetings,
I am new to this and Observium. We have a paid version and I have some questions about support and upgrading.
Question 1, how do I get support?
Support question, when I try to add a device, I get an error saying it can’t ping the device. I have logged into the terminal of observium and can ping the device
Support question, I recently received an email about a new version, I tried to run the update, but it fails saying it can’t find the root folder or something like that.
I can provide more details, but this is the basic questions I have and if you can point me in the proper direction how to get these answered I would appreciate that.
