Hi,
A small update on the matter,
Looks like there is a mixup with the discovery. It wants to add IVM03V1D, IVM04V1D and IVM06V1d as the same VM ‘VSM02V01’. Those might have been cloned in the past (before my time in this position). [cid:image001.png@01DB25F2.B7FFA760]
You are right about the outdated VMware version but I will not give up that easy 😊 Showing below the issue is also with some version of 7.0.2 Same VM added multiple times in VM list https://jira.observium.org/projects/OBS/issues/OBS-4883?filter=allissues

Hi Ivo,
I had this issue for some time and as I experienced it, I got VMs twice usually. I was always a bit behind the latest version (Enterprise License) so I couldn't confirm my test scenarios with the latest code. It was a minor annoyance in my case, so couldn't prioritise it. I however noticed that the issue does not arise with ESXi 7. Now, ESXi 6.7 is being deprecated (no support, no security patches !) and VMWare was bought by broadcom (and has sinister plans for 'small' customers) so my advice would be to move to ESXi 7 anyway (for security's sake) or move to ProxMox or any other virtualization platform.
Hint: if you have your VMs themselves monitored in Observium, if you give vmware the same hostname, Observium will nicely add links in the VMs tab to the related device page.
Ahmed.

This week I started with a new Observium installation, and love the product. A small problem is with my VMware 6.7 hosts (I know they are old) which keeps adding the same VM’s to the list. How can I resolve this?
Same VM a lot of times: [cid:image003.png@01DB25F2.B7FFA760]
