The issue is that this is rrdtool behaviour.
We didn't write rrdtool, so that's basically the end of that avenue.
Adam.

Dear Adam,
I am trying to help. I care about your product, so I'm following up on identified issues.
I may not have developer skills, but I can apprehend a problem globally. Hence my proposal.
But if you are not willing to share more specifically what the issue is, then I can't understand what it is and relay it.
Hopefully, we can eventually help each other and the community :-)
Best regards.

Hi,
I see that newer versions of rrdtool package are available. Would the CHANGES include the fix that is needed ?

Hello Adam,
Sorry but no coding/developper skills here.
I'm completly relying on the community.

No, RRD generates them. RRD doesn't store the data unmolested, it modifies the data it stores, which causes all manner of strangeness at times.
You can look at the code which generates the graph to see if there's an issue with it.

Well, SNMP generates them and rrd stores them. Whatever... :-)
Question is : how do we fix this ?

why would you say it wasn't? it's rrdtool which generates those numbers.

It's frustrating indeed :-/
Why would you say this is related to rrdtool ? Most open source solutions have been relaying on it for years (cacti, etc.) and it's been working just fine !
I'm curious to hear your explanations :-)
Best regards.

This is a quirk of rrdtool. It's frustrating, indeed. If anyone knows how to rectify it, that would be nice! :)

Dear Observium community,
I’m using embedded port description parsers to aggregate Peering + Transit ports. It’s working just fine.
When I display the aggregate graph and try to retrieve the sum of last know IN / OUT trafic, I get 0 values for both if I select pre-defined time present (e.g. Last 6h) :
Is this by design or it this a bug ?
Best regards.
