Thanks guys. What's the reasoning behind this? Surely any alerts that affect a disabled device would never be cleared, as it's no longer being polled.

For return "old behavior", add this config option to config.php:
$config['web_show_disabled'] = FALSE; // Show or not disabled devices on major pages.
or do same in Web UI as administrator: Global settings -> Edit -> Web UI -> Show disabled devices (switch to False)
