Thanks everyone, for the clarification about the alerting feature, as i wasn't sure what future meant, still not exactly clear I guess it means after you pay a small fee which is more than fair. Of course i would be willing to pay for alerting and understand that supporting a project like Observium is important for its future development. I was not trying to be rude or offensive, and just in case anyone has any doubts let me be clear i have nothing but respect for the Observium project and community. However i do not appreciate the aggressive nature, and completely out of line career advice suggested by Lane.
Anyway I will give Observium a try as I have used Zabbix, ZenOSS, PandoraNMS, and tried a few others and I'm currently using OpenNMS all of which seem are overly complex for my needs.

You need to purchase the paid version for the whopping £100/year in order to have access to the alerting system per the information on the Observium homepage.
If you are unwilling to spending £100/year you should probably look into another line of business as bitching here will only get you ignored...

Any time frame or just the future on that ??
I see that observium is an excellent product
Also see that alerting was added as a kickstart feature, and it was funded over a year ago ... was just hoping that i might be finished and included now.
I'm not a developer so i have little or know idea about how long these things take.
Also thanks for your quick reply

Hi, 1 fu·ture adjective \ ˈ fyü-chər\

—used to say what someone or something will be The feature is not lacking. Many people are using it with excellent results.
