Yes, this is functionally the same as upgrading.
You need to do ./discovery.php -u after copying over the database/rrds to update schema as with a normal upgrade.

Hi Everyone,
Need some advice. I'm running Observium Observium Community Edition 20.9.10731 on Debian 8.4 and I want to move this to a new server.
I tried to update to the latest community edition but when I ran discovery it could not find any modules so I backed out of the upgrade.
Can I build a new server, install the latest community then move the database over or do I need to install same versions of Observium on both servers ?
