Sounds like you're between a rock and a hard place then, I've never heard of any trials being offered. When I wanted to trial the alert and billing modules, I just bought a subscription - £150 is quite inexpensive when you consider all the features you get.

I am not running anything in production, I am looking at options at the
moment. As the website notes, threshold and state alerting is only
available with the subscription. I understand that it is important to
get the updates but right now it doesn't make any difference.
I have already setup Observium but the alert menus are not visible.
The bottom line is that if I can't trial the functionality that we need,
I won't get sign off for funding.

Don't subscribe for alerting, subscribe because it's dumb to run
something in an operational environment without regular updates
(subscription is primarily to get access to immediate updates rather
than 6-monthly updates).

I am evaluating Observium for a job and I was wondering if any of you
know of a way to enable the alerting functionality as a trail?
I could not find anything on the website about it but if I cannot trial
it first and compare to the other options I have I won't be able to make
a case to pay for the subscription.
Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Vin
