I think a nice feature request would to be make it possible to flip a switch in the configuration to link in the email towards the observium instance for the image. But both need to be (imho) possible.

To give some background, back when Adam built this functionality, it was made to work on an iphone (where the images do work), and with an observium instance that is not publicly exposed to the internet, that's why the decision was made to include the image as a base64 encoded inline image.

Yes,
the problem is that Outlook and many other email clients choose to block base64 images as they are often used in spam/fraud mails.

Hi,

This has never worked for us either (Outlook 201x mixture here) – just assumed we had something incorrectly configured in Observium and had never really bothered to get it sorted. Always click the link to go and see the event/graph directly.

So, is it actually the case that the image is indeed there but Outlook chooses not to show it then?

Cheers,

Same Problem here with Outlook (2010). Was anyone able to fix this?

I tried a lot of settings in Outlook but wasn’t able to display the images…

Yeah, Outlook also blocks base64 images

Fwiw I've never had them work in outlook either. They work on mobile though

Hi,

I've seen that alerts include an image, base encoded in the actual html file, but the image is never displayed. Now I'm using that Redmond build software to read mails, perhaps that's why it's not working? Anyone else with outlook who can see the graph included in the alerts?
