Hi Adam,
I am using the TurnKey linux Observium
appliance and as per your instructions I have downloaded the latest version
of the appliance and now I am at the process to export the database from
my previous Observium appliance.
During the initialisation I wasn't able
to import the dump from the original install so I will perform the import
after the initialisation. Does this affect the new system in any way?
Also should I create dump of all the
databases or just the phpmyadmin which is the database of the old
system?
Old Observium appliance
New Observium
appliance
Thank you,
Marios

Observium is just a MySQL database, a config.php
and the contents of the rrd directory.
The easiest way to migrate is just to run
the install process on a new system, but replace the database insertion
step with inserting a dump from the original install, and then copying
over the config.php and rrd directory.
Adam.

Hi,
Is it possible to migrate my current Observium configuration to a new VM
and if yes is there any guide how to do it since I am not very familiar
with the specific system?
Thank you,
Marios

Debian 7 is like 3 years out of security support. Are you sure you want
to be running something with that much access on your network devices on
it?
But yeah, PHP 7 has been a requirement for a while now...

Hi,
You likely just need to update PHP to a recent 7.x release and it should
work.
I'm sure there are lots of guides on installing PHP 7.x on Debian 7 around
:)

Hi,
We have updated our Observium platform to the latest version CE 19.8 and
we are facing the following issue.
After finishing the upgrade using the instructions on the website we were
able to access the web interface just once. When we logged in the first
time after the upgrade we received a message that the php version also
must be updated. After that we were unable to logon to the web interface
(after login we see a blank screen) and we receive the following error
in the apache error log:
[Wed Sep 16 12:33:07 2020] [error] [client PHP Fatal error: Call
to undefined function password_hash() in /opt/observium/html/includes/authentication/mysql.inc.php
on line 101,
Is it possible to backup the configuration and update php version and use
Observium installation again? If yes is there any guide how to perform
the update?
We have observium installed on a Debian 7 machine.
