I'm not one of the Observium Team, but been working in this area recently. The link below is a way to use the format the port descriptions on your device:-

This isn't exactly the same as what you were doing, but might achieve the result you want via another route.
Just be aware that I was working with the Observium guys to resolve a bug with this. If you're using an Observium version prior to v10304 don't use "commas" in your description field for ports designated as customers or you'll get no graphs. Bug supposedly fixed from v10304 onwards, but this doesn't seem to have made it's way into the "Stable" branch yet and won't be in the CE version for some months.

Could you please advise, how Can I customize description of each port after creating a dashboard ,by GUI interface ?
Please , see below examples : ( I would like to updated each port description by the name of the customer, Circuit ID .. ) , but as you can see below description is not clear .
