We have been running Observium since March this year and very pleased with it. The issues are coming from the scenarios when we need to open ports behind behind a router/firewall. With an agent like nsclient or munin-node no need to configure the ports on the server. Janos

Get the Community version and run Observium on a few of your servers/VMs via SNMP. See if it gives you what you want.
If you want Nagios service restarts, that¹s a no go. D:

It wasn't written by us, and the guy who wrote it seems to have vanished, but Mike did fix some issues with it recently, I think.
Personally, I have no idea how it works, and have no need for it (I don't do Windows!), but I think a number of people are using it.
