It may also be interesting to set an alert to trigger after some long amount of time (12 hours?) of the battery capacity being < 95% (or something reasonable).

It looks like this UPS charged the battery about 50% after a multi hour power failure and then the charger/inverter went into some internal fault and the unit switched to bypass.

Thanks Tom, that might be the smartest idea.

I'd just alert on "status_event notequals up" to catch all fail states, unless you really want separate checkers/contacts depending on what's wrong with the thing :)

You can alert when the value does not equal 2 (from the looks of it)

Subject: [Observium] Alert check config for a UPS "Status" entry

We'd like to alert when any of our APC UPS'es output status is not "online"

I see an alert check type is "status" but I'm not sure what to use for the other settings.

Right now we have a UPS in hardware bypass due to a bad inverter (ugh) and the status entry says "event alert, status hardwareFailureBypass".

Any tips?
