Ran discovery to completion ;-)

 

All PoE sensors deleted ;-)

 

It would still be nice to have this information (if it was reliable).

I have attached the SENSOR properties of a SF300-24PP switch. In case this violates Observium netiquette, the ports are filled with random max values for voltage and current while the max values for power are constant (and real!).

 

The is also no data for ports FA7, FA12, and FA22: FA7 and FA22 are down but FA12 is up and delivering power.

 

I disabled the CISCOSB-POE-MIB at the site level and started a new discovery of all devices (./discovery.php -h all from the /opt/Observium folder): the discovery process fails for a SF300-24PP device and the process does not complete. The error is:

 

                PHP Fatal error:  Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 128 bytes) in /opt/observium/includes/entities.inc.php on line 541

 

The complete discovery log is below.

 

I would like to preserve statistical data for these switches, if at all possible. Other than that, I am open to all suggestions ;-)

I have a number of SF300-24P (802.3af), SF300-24PP (802.3at), SF300-48P, and SG200-26P Cisco switches, all at firmware revision 1.4.8.6

 

(There is a newer firmware 1.4.10.06 published 4 days ago: I will install this only if required).

 

The voltage/current sensors are constantly complaining that they are either under/over threshold. For example, below are the logs on a port drawing 3500 mW for a Ubiquiti Unifi access point model UAP-AC-M: voltage range from 0V (!) to 92V for a device that should draw 37 to 57 V PoE levels. I have 29 of these devices scattered over the network and I can rule out simple malfunction of any/all devices.

 

More intriguing is the 0.0975A current “threshold” used to issue these warnings: it does not make sense if Watts are still the product of Volts by Ampps ;-).

 

Is it possible that the MiB for these devices is out of whack? I recently updated my Observium CE to 18.9.9420 (5th September 2018) but this issue has been annoying me for quite some time.

 

Please note that I have similar results for all kinds of IP cameras : however, I do not have issues for ports that are connected to Cisco SG200-08 PoE switches and for which the only warnings I get is when the output voltage suddenly drops to zero. Unfortunately, these devices do not support SNMP.
