Hi Sathish,

It sounds like you want to include an attachment in the alerts that Observium generates, but I think you would be better off using the "External program" contact type, and use a custom script to generate and send an alert email in exactly the format you desire.  This sort of situation is the reason the "external program" contact type exists, otherwise, you will have to make do with the format and options given for the "email" contact type.

I am not sure where you can get any documentation on how to use it, but I am pretty sure Observium simply calls the configured external program "contact" with all of the necessary alert information passed along as environment variables, and it is up to you to decide what to do with that alert based upon those variables.

Since the alerting system is somewhat agnostic about what exact contact method is used, adding the ability to include an "attachment" for that alert probably wouldn't make much sense, as not all contact types can support what could be called an "attachment".

I suppose two alternatives to using the external script would be to either paste the contents of the document into the message (if the size permits), or to add a URL that points to the KB document, if possible, into the message part of the email... but I suspect that that is not possible for you, or you'd have figured that out for yourself.

Subject: Adding KB Document to Observium

Hello All,

Is there any way that I can add a KB Document related to alerts to mail alert.  So Engineers will open the document and do troubleshoot the alert.
