Tom and everyone,

Thanks for the information.  I got the powers that be to open up the observium port and I’ve been getting some great data ever since.  I appreciate the assistance.

I can't use the observium agent on my dns server actually.  While snmp is an approved app, the observium agent is not.  Is there no way for me to give Observium a list of OIDs to poll and graph, ala a cacti xml file?

Thanks,
Ricardo

I've recently (as in the last 3 or 4 days) began configuring
Observium for the purpose of getting some good trending data out of my
bind servers.  I noticed in the demo, there is an APP drop down, and
BIND is listed as one of the supported applications.  I am having a
difficult time figuring out how to get Observium to monitor my bind
servers however.
The application monitoring comes from the unix agent - http://www.observium.org/wiki/UNIX_Agent

It's not too difficult to set up, the files you need are in /opt/observium/scripts. Once you've got the agent working, you may need to enable it under the Poller Modules for the specific host.
