Hi Tim,
I had issues with not being able to select from observium with Weathermap. I found that the instructions I followed didn't place the files in the correct directories and had to set permissions for weathermap to read the rrd. From memory, I used the chrome developer tools to troubleshoot and the log files on the server.
I'm not at work at moment so can't check, but that was why I had issues at install.

Observium has a link above most graphs that says "RRD Command". If you select that, it will display all sorts of useful information to help locate which rrd file to put into that field.
Make sure you pay attention to the INOCTETS and OUTOCTETS as well. Also I just noticed that it will even summarize what file it used.
