Hi Ward,
We currently don't have separate email alerts to set up. There is some general alerting in the code currently, which sends email to either the configured snmp contact, or the default email contact (see configuration file/wiki for details), but I don't think alerting is currently written for load or memory usage...
The text you see comes from the snmpd daemon on the server/device you are monitoring. If you configure it correctly there (I guess it's either the location or the contact) it'll show up in Observium correctly.
Regards, Tom

Hello,
I'm new to observium and want to use it for my VPS monitoring. I must say it looks very good!
I'm still struggling with 2 things:
- how can I create email alerts for system load, memory usage, ... ?
- Under my device there is the following text Unknown
(configure /etc/snmp/snmpd.local.conf), what should be specified in that config file?
It's all very new for me. I never setup any monitoring service before.
Thanks in advance! Ward Loockx _______________________________________________ observium mailing list observium@observium.org http://postman.memetic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/observium
