Nope. There are no "services" beyond apache and mysql.

I'd recommend wiping and reinstalling your server and following the install guide /exactly. If you follow it /exactly/ (or use the install script), it *will* work.

There's no point trying to diagnose why it isn't working, because if you follow the install guide, it works.
