Sorry - apologies for my ignorance.
I had assumed MIB files on observium were used to decide what to objects to get information about from a device and hence I could add a MIB file in to get additional information. A bit of a simplistic view I
guess.
Is there a way that I can create my own custom devices?

Mibs aren't what you think they are :)
Mibs are just the snmp equivalent of DNS. They don't autogenerate code!

Thanks again Adam,
Is there a way to add MIBs or customise or added devices? I have downloaded the MIBs for the blade chassis but cannot find any documentation on where to place it and how to incorporate it.
When I discover the device it says it is treating it as generic. I am guessing that it uses a generic set of MIBs to interrogate it. So I am wondering if I can create another device, based on generic, and add
the downloaded MIBs.

If it doesn't see the switchports, that means it doesn't populate ifmib, or their description contains 'virtual'

Has anyone got Observium to recognise the switch module on an Intel MFSYS25 compute chassis by any chance?
Observium finds the controller very easily, but doesn’t find any of the switch ports.
Thanks
